Speaker Thia Jang Ping 

Dr Thia Jang Ping is the director of the Transformation Office and the Security and Resilience Programme Directorate in the Singapore Ministry of Finance. His key responsibilities include overseeing the budgets and effectiveness of various programs, as well building up finance capabilities and improving service effectiveness in the public sector. He is also concurrently the director of public economics at the Institute of Governance and Policy, Civil Service College. His key responsibility is to advance the use of economics in the public sector.

Dr Thia received his PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics in 2008. His main professional interest is in international economics. His secondary interests include economic geography and population issues.
