Maya Shankar

Maya Shankar is senior advisor to the deputy director at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. She leads the Social and Behavioral Sciences Initiative, which seeks to translate academic research findings into improvements in federal program performance and efficiency using rigorous evaluation methods. Prior to joining the White House in April, Shankar completed postdoctoral work in cognitive neuroscience at Stanford University, after receiving a PhD from the University of Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship and a BA from Yale University in cognitive science. |
